Brian Josey Sensei started karate with Steve Flores at the age of 10 and now holds the rank of 2nd degree black belt. He attended St. Michaels High School were he maintained a 4.5 grade point average. He as been the recipient of the Karate Academy Academic Achievement Award and is one of the Dojo’s National Point Champions. Brian now attends the University of New Mexico. Josey Sensei continuines his training with Renshi Steve Flores and is working on his 3rd degree black during his studies at UNM. He also continues to compete at local USKA tournaments and is a member of both USKA and NMSKA. Brian is admired by all of the students at the Academy, but especially the children and their parents. “Mr. Josey is one of the hardest working students I have ever had at the dojo, there are very few” Renshi.
